The more efficient a company gets, the more economically viable it becomes and fewer are its environmental impacts.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><div style=\"\" class=\"nz-column-text nz-clearfix\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this article, we focus on the Effect of installing thermal insulation solutions on the equipment that makes up the circuits of thermal fluids transport and storage.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div  class=\"nz-section horizontal animate-false full-width-true\"   data-animation-speed=\"35000\" data-parallax=\"false\" style=\"padding-bottom:30px;\"><div class=\"container\"><div class=\"nz-row\"><div class=\"col col12  col-animate-false\" data-align=\"left\" data-effect=\"fade-left\" ><div class=\"col-inner\" style=\"\"><h4 style=\"color: #003468;text-align: left\" class=\"vc_custom_heading vc_do_custom_heading vc_custom_1606736030698\" >Insulation: yes or no?<\/h4><div style=\"\" class=\"nz-column-text nz-clearfix\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the next set of images, it is possible to see an example of the effect of the implementation of insulation has on piping in which high-temperature steam is transported.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><div style=\"\" class=\"nz-column-text nz-clearfix\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium_large wp-image-21377\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tecnoveritas.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/fig.01-768x299.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"299\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tecnoveritas.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/fig.01-768x299.png 768w, https:\/\/www.tecnoveritas.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/fig.01-300x117.png 300w, https:\/\/www.tecnoveritas.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/fig.01-1024x399.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.tecnoveritas.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/fig.01.png 1167w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/p>\n<div class='gap nz-clearfix' style='height:10px'>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Figure 1 \u2013 Photography (left) and thermography (right) of a duct transporting high-temperature steam.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><div style=\"\" class=\"nz-column-text nz-clearfix\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As shown in the thermography, the outer surface of the valve (without insulation and exposed to the air) is close to 185 \u00baC. On the other hand, the pipe\u2019s surface on both sides of the valve is covered with thermal insulation, the surface of which is at a temperature of about 40 \u00baC.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><div style=\"\" class=\"nz-column-text nz-clearfix\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The fluid running through the valve and pipe is the same, meaning that the difference of temperature on the outer surface of the valve and pipe is the consequence of the insulation. Because of its installation, it is possible the loss of significant amounts of energy to the surrounding atmosphere, resulting in substantial savings to the facility\u2019s owner.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div  class=\"nz-section horizontal animate-false full-width-true\"   data-animation-speed=\"35000\" data-parallax=\"false\" style=\"padding-bottom:30px;\"><div class=\"container\"><div class=\"nz-row\"><div class=\"col col12  col-animate-false\" data-align=\"left\" data-effect=\"fade-left\" ><div class=\"col-inner\" style=\"\"><h4 style=\"color: #003468;text-align: left\" class=\"vc_custom_heading vc_do_custom_heading vc_custom_1606736590177\" >Insulation<\/h4><div style=\"\" class=\"nz-column-text nz-clearfix\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Has a way to minimize energy and insulation costs, it is fundamental to optimize the thickness of the insulation. The thicker it is, the lower the energy transfer through the surfaces in touch with the fluid to the atmosphere will be, and consequently so will the energy costs. However, it is not feasible to apply insulation excessively thick, since the material, installation and maintenance costs will increase with the amount applied, annulling the gains obtained from the energy savings (Kaynakli, 2013).<\/p>\n<p><\/div><div style=\"\" class=\"nz-column-text nz-clearfix\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thus, depending on the specific characteristics of each equipment and its function, there will always be an \u201coptimal thickness\u201d which optimizes the total implementation costs and maximizes the gains to be had.
