TecnoVeritas is one of the four finalists for the Motorship Awards. The four shortlisted nominees will present their projects on 14th and 15th November, during Motorship’s Propulsion & Future Fuels Conference, in Hamburg. The winner will be the one with more votes from the conference delegates.

For this year event, Motorship decided to do something different. Gavin Lipsith, the editor of The Motorship, said: “At our fortieth annual conference, we will explore how shipping can meet increasingly stringent demands on environmental performance. The conference will investigate many current technical developments and ship projects, and The Motorship Award will allow us to look further ahead at promising initiatives that could push shipping towards an era of zero emissions.” Font: https://www.propulsionconference.com/about-the-conference/new-for-2018-the-motorship-award

The Award has the goal of honour emissions-cutting partnerships. And the submission guidelines were as follows:

  • “Projects will be assessed for their potential impact in reducing emissions, with special consideration given to projects that can help ships cut sulphur or NOx emissions while meeting tough energy efficiency requirements.
  • To acknowledge the importance of collaboration in solving industry-wide challenges, the award will be open to partnership projects featuring at least two of the following: shipowner, shipyard, class society, naval architect, equipment/fuel supplier, academic institution.
  • The advisory committee will select projects based on their impact on fuel consumption, capital and operating expenditure and applicability across the shipping industry.”

The winner will be announced on the second day of the event, 15th November, and the voting will be live by the delegates that will attend the conference.

TecnoVeritas submitted the Enermulsion Project for the first edition of Motorship Awards and is now one of the shortlisted. The other nominees are Rolls-Royce Marine, WE Tech Solutions Oy, Winterthur Gas & Diesel Ltd., Wärtsilä and Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT).

Enermulsion is a fuel conditioning system, that reduces fuel consumption and cut emissions (NOx and PM). The base of the technology is to mix water in fuel with ultrasounds. The installation of Enermulsion requires no modifications to the engines and no interruptions to the engine operation, as it is an automated inline system, also no additional tanks are required.

TecnoVeritas will present its project on the first day of the event – 14th November, at 16:45. Attend to the Conference and vote.
